contacts between researchers
in both countries
The Centre promotes to establish contacts in the sphere
of higher education and research. For the period 1993-2000 a big number of
contacts have been established, many people have been involved into the mutual
cooperation and joint projects.
In a course of many years productive cooperation
between historians of Pomor University Vladimir Bulatov, Vladislav Goldin,
Andrey Repnevskiy, Mikhail Suprun, Igor Gartsev and their Norwegian colleagues
Jens Petter Nielsen, Einar Niemi, Lars Ivar Hansen has been developed. Good
contacts had been established between professors E.Arinin and N.Terebikhin from
Religious Department with their colleagues from Tromsø University. Contacts in
the field of Russian as a foreign language are developing between lecturers of
the PSU and Marit Bjerkeng from Finnmark College. Close contacts are developing
with mathematicians from UiT, between philologists of Severodvinsk Humanitarian
Institute and Institute of Language and Literature, UiT.
Joint research conferences have been conducted, books in Russian, English and
Norwegian have been published.
